Smoking . . . It's The Habit I Like!

It Rights My Emotions

by Lonny May Dodkins

Hey there, let's go back you and I to that fated day when we gagged on our first cigarette. Remember, it was your close friend convincing you to take your first drag. You didn't want to, but their persistance won out and you succumbed. And, what a drag it was. How did I know those chemicals in that smoke would do what it did? I was just little ole naive and free. For sure, it didn't take long and I was a buzzin' and was experiencing something definitely new. My mind was no longer the same after that, because my close friends made sure cigarettes were available at all times. It became the social thing to do because we were "cool" to do it. Soon, I found that whenever I was down emotionally or upset over something, a cigarette was lit to smooth me out. Smoking became my emotional roller coaster braker. It helped me put the brakes on frustration and stimulated a new plan to get me through whatever I was trying to get over. So, there you have it. Now eight years later, I'm addicted to the process. It gives my body the chemicals to right itself physically and emotionally. Too bad I can't quit now . . . it's just too hard!

>Can anyone share there comments on how they became addicted to smoking?
